AnnounceKit is a powerful tool for managing and communicating with large groups of people.
The "People" section of the platform is a key component in organizing and managing your audience, and it offers several important features to help you get the most out of your communication efforts.
Why should you share user details with AnnounceKit?
To see end-user activities.
When a user interacts with any of the AnnounceKit tools, such as commenting, reacting, or viewing a post inside a Widget or directly on your feed, or subscribing to your feed via Email and Slack, the system will include the user in this list with the provided user properties and details.
Remember to enable User Tracking by coding it into your widget.
To Import or Export users
One of the most useful features of the People section is the ability to import and export lists of people. Whether you already have a list of contacts or are creating one, AnnounceKit makes it simple to bring your audience onto the platform and keep track of who's on your list.
Importing
You can import your users into AnnounceKit easily with due regard to the following requirements,
You can only upload .csv files. Any other type of files like .tsv, .xls, .xlsx, .xml, or .txt cannot be uploaded.
You can upload max 3 MB files one at a time. If you have a file than this, you need to split it into several files.
You need to provide headers to your columns for data to be uploaded successfully.
You shouldn't include any invalid email addresses in the file, otherwise, the invalid rows will be removed from your file.
❗️❗️❗️You must set up your own email domain address via customer providers like SMTP and Mailgun, to start sending emails to your uploaded list of users. See more about custom email domain setup here 👉 Email Settings
1) To get started, you can go to the People tab, and select the Import button next to the Export button.
After that, it will bring up the Import window, where you can upload your CSV file and preview it. This preview will help you check the column headings to see if they are listed correctly and the total items that will be imported.
💡 There will be five rows for you to validate your file.
2) After confirming your file, you'll get to the window where you can match your column headers to your user attributes.
It will automatically give you the three default fields to match first. And then, if you wish, you can also match other columns in the file to the fields you added to AnnounceKit in Segmentation.
💡In this step, if there is an invalid email address in the file, the system will give you an error that those rows won't be imported.
3) After matching columns to user fields, you'll get to the next window, where you'll again have a chance to check the latest version of your file and confirm the submission of your file before starting to import.
4) After selecting Next, the Complete window will open, where the importing of your file starts and you get a success message 🎉
Exporting
Exporting the user data from the People section is quite easy.
All you have to do is to click on Export under the People section.
After this, you will get a CVS file that can be used to edit user data or for other uses.
To group your users and create Segment Profile
A Segment Profile is a combination of segmentation rules representing a specific user group based on shared user properties.
In other words, it is a profile created by you to group your users.
With Segment Profiles, you can easily send your users targeted announcements that matter only to them without notifying your other users or analyze specific Segment Profiles.
1) Firstly, you need a segmentation field such as user_access_level and user_status to create a profile using these fields.
2) Then, under People, you can add rules to these fields.
3) After giving these rules a name, this will create a Segment Profile.
