A Segment Profile is a combination of segmentation rules that represents a specific user group based on shared user properties (Segmentation Fields).

Basically, it is a segmented user group.

With Segment Profiles, you can easily send your user's targeted announcements and updates that matter only to them without notifying your other users.

Segmented announcements result in higher user engagement than unsegmented ones.

Imagine that you own an eCommerce business that offers coupons.

Your target customers are males and females between 18 and 65.

This is a wide range of customer types that is hard to organize. Hair salon coupons may only be relevant to young women while group deal tours are appealing to over 50s men.

So, you need to find a solution to announce your updates relevant to the groups.

1) Firstly, you need to a segmentation field such as customer_age and customer_gender to use later for your segment profiles.

2) Then, under People, you can add rules to these fields.

3) After giving these rules a name, this will create a Segment Profile.
